TAKE CARE

A darkly humorous verbatim play that follows the story of one woman, Pam, and her fight to move her mother out of a care home. Along the way we meet over 20 other characters, all involved in the care system.

Following a sold out performance @ RADA Festival, there are exciting things in the mix for TAKE CARE both this year and in 2020.

RISK ASSESSMENT

A lecturer at an Arts University returns to work after a sabbatical, only to discover a new type of management in place.

​

RISK ASSESSMENT is a part-verbatim production, written by Conny Templeman in association with Écoute Theatre.

​

Following the sold out semi-staged reading @ RADA Festival, RISK ASSESSMENT is being developed for a London run.

TAKE CARE @ DARE FESTIVAL

October 24th & 26th

After 3 months of development through Upstart Theatre's DARE Festival, we premiered a new 1/2 hour, two-hander, tour-able version of TAKE CARE.

And yes, tour-able is now a word.

We now have two versions of this production; one made for theatres, one made for non-theatre spaces.

RADA Festival was a knockout this year, with inventive, engaging and exciting new productions premiering at RADA.

Both TAKE CARE and RISK ASSESSMENT were prominent features of the festival, with sold-out performances and excellent reviews from industry and audience alike.

Both productions are going into further development, with a future life for each guaranteed. An exciting week all around

TWO SHOWS WIN A PLACE AT RADA FESTIVAL

April 11 2019

Two productions produced by Écoute have been accepted into the RADA Festival.

RISK ASSESSMENT will be having an Industry Rehearsed Reading performance 3 July, 2019 in GBS Theatre @ RADA.

TAKE CARE will have a performance on 6 July, 2019 in Gielgud Theatre @ RADA.

TAKE CARE STORMS SWINDON

April 10 2019

On 9 April TAKE CARE was performed as part of Swindon Fringe Festival. The reaction from the audience was incredibly moving, with many members staying to talk to the company to share their own stories of care, in all capacities.

We are looking forward to sharing the production with even more people. Thanks for having us Swindon, it was a dream.

AWARDED ARTS COUNCIL FUNDING

December 18, 2019

The Arts Council England have awarded Écoute Theatre Co. the funding required to R&D their production TAKE CARE for three weeks as part of FEST WEST at Pound Arts Theatre. 

We could not be happier or more grateful that the production will now be able to be workshopped professionally, and that we can pay our creatives to do so.
